Cost projections with a surgeon's signature.

Fast, records-based projections of future medical costs — for demand letters, mediation, and early resolution — signed by a board-certified surgeon.

What is a medical cost projection?

A medical cost projection (MCP) is a records-based estimate of the future medical care an injured person will need and what it will cost. It is the abbreviated sibling of the full life care plan: no in-person evaluation, a focus on the recent treatment record, and a condensed deliverable — which makes it faster and significantly less expensive.

That economy is the point. Not every case justifies a comprehensive plan, but nearly every case with future medical needs benefits from a credible number — in the demand package, at mediation, or when a carrier sets reserves.

Why a surgeon-signed projection

Much of the medical cost projection market is template-driven — records in, spreadsheet out. Those products are cheap until they're challenged, because there is no physician standing behind the numbers.

Every Surgent LCP projection is prepared and signed by a board-certified surgeon. The treatment assumptions come from a clinician who performs the projected procedures, and the costing is documented to sources. If the case settles, the projection did its job economically. If it escalates, the same surgeon can expand it into a full life care plan and defend it in testimony — nothing is thrown away.

Frequently asked questions

Medical cost projection or life care plan — which does my case need?

A projection fits non-catastrophic cases, pre-litigation postures, and deadline-driven demands. A life care plan fits catastrophic injuries and contested damages headed for deposition and trial. Severity, case value, and procedural posture decide — and we'll tell you honestly at intake, because we prepare both.

What does a medical cost projection cost?

Industry pricing runs from a few hundred dollars for template products to several thousand for physician-prepared, signed analyses. The difference shows when the number is challenged. We quote a fixed fee after a free case review.

How fast can it be delivered?

Industry turnaround is days to about two weeks, since no in-person evaluation is required. Give us your demand or mediation date and we'll confirm feasibility before you engage.

What if the case escalates later?

Our projections are built to grow. The same surgeon who signed the projection can expand it into a full life care plan with an evaluation and complete costing — consistent methodology, one expert, no starting over.
